Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment of caring for the body using essential oils and herbs. These oils and scents are either used in baths and massage, diffused throughout a room, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled. All of our natural organic essential oils come to you in a carrier oil because many people have skin sensitivity to the oils themselves.

Essential oils are extracted directly from flowers, plants, grasses, seeds, fruits, and barks. Each oil has a distinctive psychological, physiological, and therapeutic properties. Amount the essential oils you will find properties including pain relief, stimulation, relaxation, stress relief, diuretics, digestive properties, anti-viral's, expectorants, antiseptics, anti-inflammatories and anti-depressants.

The initial chemical reaction within the body occurs when the scent is inhaled through the nose. You have olfactory sensors immediately send signals to your brain. Smells also triggers emotional reactions in people. For instance, if you smell the odor of baking bread, it may take you right back into your grandmother's kitchen, making you feel warm, safe and loved.

The chemical properties of an essential oil actually enter your bloodstream when they are inhaled into your lungs or applied to the skin.  From there, tiny molecules travel throughout your body and actually produce reactions in the cell. If, and only if, the essential oil contains components that the cell needs, it will be absorbed into the cell.

The body attempts keeping itself in balance, but sometimes, it is unable to do so because of external factors such as stress, airborne virus's, and improper eating.  When the body is in a state of imbalance, it will search (crave) the appropriate chemicals to heal itself.

Aromatherapy, through the use of essential oils has been used as treatment alone, as well as an adjunct therapy to other treatment you may be receiving. They have been used or relieve pain that can be a side effect of chemotherapy, pain relief for women in labor, and in the rehabilitation of cardiac patients. You will also find business owners in Japan using the scent of lemon and eucalyptus to keep staff members alert, and lavender and rosemary to calm clients who are waiting.
